Reaktiokäytös refers to a psychological phenomenon where an individual's behavior is driven by a desire to provoke a specific reaction from others. This can manifest in various ways, often stemming from a need for attention, control, or a perceived lack of agency in other areas of life. Individuals exhibiting reaktiokäytös may intentionally engage in behaviors that are disruptive, provocative, or emotionally charged to elicit a strong response, such as anger, frustration, sympathy, or guilt, from those around them.

The underlying motivation for reaktiokäytös can be complex. It might be a learned behavior from childhood, where eliciting strong emotional responses was the primary way to gain attention.
