Ratifikációs is a term originating from international law and political science. It refers to the formal act by which a state expresses its consent to be bound by a treaty. This process typically follows the signing of a treaty by authorized representatives of a state. The signing itself does not create legal obligations, but rather signifies an intent to proceed with the treaty's ratification.

Ratification procedures vary significantly between states, reflecting their constitutional frameworks and domestic legal systems. In many countries, ratification requires the approval of the legislature, such as a parliament or congress. This legislative review ensures that the treaty's provisions are compatible with national laws and policies. In some cases, a supermajority or a specific type of vote might be required.

Once a state has completed its internal ratification process, it formally communicates its consent to the other parties to the treaty, often through an exchange of instruments of ratification or by depositing them with a designated depository. This act of notification makes the treaty legally binding on that state. Treaties can enter into force for all parties on a specific date, or upon the deposit of a certain number of ratification instruments.
