radioscopy
Radioscopy is a medical imaging technique that uses X-rays to visualize the internal structures of the body in real-time. Similar to fluoroscopy, it produces dynamic images, allowing for the observation of movement within the body, such as the beating of the heart or the passage of contrast material through the digestive tract. The process involves an X-ray source projecting a beam of radiation through the patient's body onto a fluorescent screen or a digital detector. The varying densities of tissues absorb different amounts of X-rays, creating a shadow image that is then displayed.
Historically, radioscopy was performed using a fluorescent screen, which produced a direct but often dimmer image.
