Racks are constructed from sturdy materials like steel to support the weight of the installed components.

Features of racks often include adjustable mounting rails, ventilation slots or cutouts, and provisions for power distribution units (PDUs) and cable management accessories. Open racks offer easy access to equipment but less security and environmental protection, while enclosed cabinets provide enhanced security, dust protection, and can be equipped with cooling systems. The choice of rack depends on the specific needs of the installation, including the amount of equipment, security requirements, and environmental considerations.
