QuickConnect is a remote access service developed by Synology that provides access to Synology NAS devices and associated applications over the Internet without the need to configure port forwarding or dynamic DNS. Then clients—such as DSM's web UI, mobile apps like DS File or DS Cloud, or desktop clients—connect by authenticating with the Synology account and referencing the QuickConnect ID or URL. The system supports secure connections with TLS.

Security and privacy: Traffic may traverse Synology relay infrastructure; while connections are encrypted, users should consider privacy implications and assess whether VPN or direct port forwarding better suits their security requirements. The service is intended to simplify remote access, but may not be optimal for all environments.

Limitations and considerations: Performance depends on internet connectivity and relay server load; some networking features or high-security deployments may require alternative methods such as VPN or DDNS. QuickConnect is one option among several remote-access approaches for Synology NAS.
