qismlariga

Qismlariga is an Uzbek grammatical form derived from the noun qism (part) with the plural suffix -lar and the dative/allative suffix -iga, producing qismlariga. The form conveys the idea “to its parts” or “to their parts,” depending on the possessor, and is used to mark the indirect object or target of an action. In practice, qismlariga appears in phrases where something is directed toward the components or divisions of something else.

Morphology and formation: The base qism takes the plural suffix -lar to yield qismlar (parts). The dative/allative suffix -iga is then added to indicate direction toward those parts. When an outer noun marks possession (for example, kitobning “of the book” or the book’s), the whole phrase kitobning qismlariga means “to the parts of the book.” This structure is typical of Uzbek’s agglutinative system, where multiple suffixes stack in a linear sequence to encode number, case, and relation.

Usage: qismlariga is used to express the target or beneficiary of an action, especially with verbs related to attention, distribution, or description of components. It commonly appears with genitively marked nouns that specify what the parts belong to. For example: Kitobning qismlariga e'tibor berish kerak — “It is necessary to pay attention to the parts of the book.” The form helps clarify which parts are being referred to and what the action is directed toward.
