Pöytälämmitin, also known as a desk heater or personal heater, is a compact electrical heating device designed for localized heating of small spaces. Its primary purpose is to provide personal warmth in an office cubicle, study desk, or any other area where a central heating system may not be sufficient or where individual temperature control is desired.

These heaters typically utilize radiant or convection heating principles. Radiant heaters, such as those with ceramic elements or infrared bulbs, directly warm objects and people in their line of sight. Convection heaters, often using fan-forced air or natural air circulation over a heating element, warm the air in the immediate vicinity. Many pöytälämmittimet are equipped with safety features like tip-over protection and overheat shut-off to prevent accidents. Adjustable thermostats or multiple heat settings are common, allowing users to fine-tune the temperature. Their small size and portability make them easy to move and position as needed.
