pófalowe

Półfalowe is a Polish adjective meaning half-wavelength or half-wave. The standard spelling is półfalowe; the form without the diacritic, pófalowe, is generally considered a misspelling. The term is formed from pół (half) and falowy (wave-related), from fala (wave). It is used in physics, electronics, acoustics, and radio engineering to describe quantities, devices, or structures tied to half of a wavelength.

In practice, półfalowe describes either a length equal to half the wavelength of a wave or a device designed around that length. For example, długość półfalowa refers to half-wavelength length, a common guideline in designing antennas such as dipole or vertical antennas. A prostownik półfalowy refers to a half-wave rectifier, which uses one half-cycle of the input waveform. The expressions filtry półfalowe or obwody półfalowe may appear in discussions of filters or resonant circuits tuned to a half-wavelength scale.
