Píinou is a small coastal village and commune in the southern part of the island nation of Neridia, located along the Neridian Gulf. The settlement sits on a network of mangrove estuaries and is linked to surrounding towns by a regional road and a small port. The climate is tropical with a rainy season from May to November.

Píinou has a history rooted in fishing, dating to the 17th century when it began as a hamlet. It expanded through river and sea trade in the 19th century and later developed fisheries infrastructure and a modest port. The community has preserved traditional crafts and local organizations while gradually adopting modern services.

The local economy centers on small-scale fishing, coconut cultivation, and crafts. Tourism and seafood processing provide additional income. Public services include a primary school, a health clinic, and basic market facilities; transport relies on regional roads and the port.

Residents speak Neridian Píinouan, a local creole with Portuguese and West African influences, alongside the national language. Annual events include a Fishing Festival and a Kite Festival; local cuisine features grilled fish, coconut rice, yams, and tropical fruits.

Notable sites include the Fort of Píinou and the Church of Saint Lucia, as well as a nearby mangrove reserve that supports biodiversity and ecotourism. Administratively, Píinou belongs to the Neridian District and is governed by a locally elected council and mayor.
