påfyllningsventil
A påfyllningsventil, or refill valve, is a device used to control the flow of liquid into a container. It is commonly found in cisterns and water tanks, such as those in toilets, to automatically refill the tank after water has been used. The valve operates on a simple principle. When the water level in the tank drops, a float mechanism attached to the valve also drops. This movement opens the valve, allowing water from the supply line to enter the tank. As the water level rises, the float rises with it. Once the water reaches a predetermined level, the float pushes the valve closed, stopping the flow of water. This ensures that the tank is refilled to the correct level without overflowing.
