Pääkirjat, often translated as main books or ledgers, are fundamental accounting records in Finnish business and financial contexts. They serve as the primary repository for all financial transactions of an entity. In essence, the pääkirja is a collection of all the different accounts used by a business, such as cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue, and expenses. Each account within the pääkirja records increases and decreases in monetary value.
