Pedagogikk, or pädagogik, is the study of education and the practice of teaching. It examines how people learn, how teaching can be organized to support development, and how social, cultural, and institutional contexts shape educational processes. The field blends theory and practice, drawing on psychology, sociology, philosophy, and curriculum studies to improve learning outcomes and educational equity.

The term derives from the Greek paidagogos, "to lead a child." In contemporary usage, pedagogikk encompasses general pedagogy, didactics (the science and art of teaching methods), special education, adult education, and educational leadership. It also intersects with related disciplines such as educational psychology, the sociology of education, and comparative or international education.

Historically, pedagogy has roots in classical philosophy and religiously infused instruction, but modern pedagogikk emerged with Enlightenment ideals about universal education, followed by reforms in the 19th and 20th centuries. Key debates concern the aims of education, the balance between transmission and transformation, the role of the teacher, curriculum design, assessment, and inclusion.
