Puusepät are woodworkers in Finland who practice carpentry and cabinetmaking. The term comes from puu, wood, and seppä, smith, and it covers craftsmen who design, cut, shape, assemble, and finish wooden components for buildings and furniture. Puusepät may work in construction, furniture manufacture, or restoration, often combining technical skill with aesthetic judgment.

Typical tasks include planing, sawing, joinery, fitting doors and windows, building stairs, and producing or installing furniture and cabinetry. They also perform repairs, refinishing, and renovations of wooden structures. In traditional settings, work relied on hand tools; in contemporary practice, power tools and, in some cases, CNC machines and computerized equipment are used.

Training typically occurs through Finland's vocational education and training system, with carpentry or furniture-making programs and an apprenticeship component. Students may earn a vocational qualification (ammattitutkinto) and qualify for skilled work. Experienced puusepät may advance to supervision, workshop management, or establish their own business.
