A putkijäähdytin, often translated as a tubular heat exchanger or pipe cooler, is a type of heat exchanger that utilizes tubes to transfer heat between two fluids. In its simplest form, it consists of a shell or casing containing a bundle of tubes. One fluid flows through the tubes, while the other fluid flows around the outside of the tubes within the shell. Heat is exchanged across the walls of the tubes.
