Pulsvormregeling is a term used in Dutch technical discourse to describe the regulation and shaping of pulses in an electronic or electromechanical system. The core idea is to control the time-domain profile of a pulse—its amplitude, width, rise and fall times, and repetition rate—in order to achieve a specified system response while respecting constraints such as energy efficiency, thermal limits, and electromagnetic interference.

In practice, pulsvormregeling appears in motor control, power electronics, laser systems, and communications. It encompasses strategies ranging from simple fixed-pulse schemes to more sophisticated methods such as pulse-width modulation (PWM), pulse-frequency modulation (PFM), or hybrid schemes. In a closed-loop variant, feedback monitors the output and adjusts the pulse parameters in real time to maintain the desired effect.

The term is not uniformly standardized and can be used differently across fields.
