Protistlika is a term used in some contexts to describe protist-like organisms, typically unicellular or simple colonial eukaryotes that do not fit neatly into established taxonomic groups. The word combines "protisti-" from protist and the suffix "-lika" meaning likeness. It is not a formal taxonomic clade in current systematics and its definition varies by author or language.

Organisms referred to as protistlika show a wide range of morphologies, from amoeboid to flagellated to ciliate, and may possess simple organelles such as mitochondria and, in photosynthetic forms, plastids of secondary origin. They can be motile by pseudopods, flagella, or cilia, or nonmotile. Some have protective coverings like cell walls or scales; others have flexible cell membranes. Reproduction is predominantly asexual via binary fission, budding, or schizogony; sexual processes such as syngamy or meiosis occur in some lineages.

Protistlika occupy diverse habitats—freshwater, marine, and moist soils. They are often phagotrophs, grazers of bacteria and microalgae, or mixotrophs that combine photosynthesis with heterotrophy. They play key roles in nutrient cycling and as part of microbial food webs; some lineages include species that are opportunistic pathogens of plants, invertebrates, or vertebrates, while most are harmless or beneficial in their ecosystems.

Because protistlika is not an official taxonomic group, its composition is not fixed. In practice, researchers may use the term to refer to protist-like organisms that defy easy placement in major supergroups such as Chromalveolata, Archaeplastida, Excavata, Rhizaria, or unikonts. The concept is more about functional and morphological resemblance to protists than about clade membership.

The concept helps describe diversity and ecological roles of protist-like life forms across habitats, and it can aid discussions of protist evolution, ecology, and the limitations of traditional taxonomy. For formal study, scientists refer to established eukaryotic supergroups and clades.
