Proroczy is a Polish adjective meaning prophetic or oracular, relating to prophecy. It is formed from prorok, “prophet,” and proroctwo, “prophecy.” In standard usage, proroczy describes statements, visions, or works believed to foretell future events, or attributes connected with prophecy.

In religious, literary, and journalistic language, proroczy can denote credibility or characteristic style: “prorocze księgi” refers to the prophetic books of the Bible; “proroczny sen” or more commonly “proroczy sen” denotes a dream interpreted as foretelling the future; and “proroczy głos” can describe a voice believed to foretell events.
