prom

PROM is an acronym that can refer to several concepts in different fields. The most common are programmable read-only memory, a type of non-volatile storage in electronics, and premature rupture of membranes, a pregnancy-related obstetric complication.

In computing, programmable read-only memory (PROM) refers to memory that is written once by an external programmer

In obstetrics, premature rupture of membranes describes rupture of the amniotic sac before or during labor.
