A privéstichting is a type of foundation in Dutch civil law that is established for a private purpose. Unlike public benefit foundations, which are intended to serve the general good, a privéstichting is created for the benefit of specific individuals or groups, or for a purpose that is not considered to be of general public interest. This could include the management of family assets, the provision of support to specific individuals, or the pursuit of particular artistic or scientific endeavors that do not qualify as public benefit.

The establishment of a privéstichting requires a notarial deed. The foundation has legal personality and can own assets, enter into contracts, and sue or be sued. The founder(s) determine the objectives of the foundation and appoint the board members who will manage its affairs. While not subject to the same strict regulatory oversight as public benefit foundations, privéstichtingen are still bound by their articles of association and Dutch law. The assets of a privéstichting are separate from those of the founder(s).
