Pressurisés is a term derived from the French word for "pressurized." In technical and scientific contexts, it refers to a system or object that is maintained at a pressure higher than its surroundings. This pressure differential is often created intentionally for specific purposes. For instance, in aviation, aircraft cabins are pressurized to ensure passenger comfort and safety at high altitudes where atmospheric pressure is significantly lower. This maintains an environment akin to that at sea level, allowing occupants to breathe normally and preventing the effects of hypoxia.

In industrial applications, pressurization is used to control chemical reactions, facilitate material handling, or contain volatile substances. Pressure vessels, designed to hold fluids or gases at a pressure substantially above ambient pressure, are a common example of pressurized systems. These vessels are engineered with specific safety factors and materials to withstand the internal forces. The concept also applies to diving equipment, where divers may use a rebreather system to recirculate and maintain a breathable gas mixture at ambient pressure, or carry compressed gas cylinders that are pressurized for their own use. In meteorology, the term "pressure system" refers to areas of high or low atmospheric pressure, where the air pressure is relatively higher or lower compared to surrounding regions.
