The term "pressucztett" was first coined by sound engineer, John S. Meyer, in his 1979 paper "Bass Trap Design and Construction." Meyer discovered that a specific wood panel constructed in a triangle shape, with two shorter side panels and one longer side panel, at particular pressure levels and frequencies, could create a tone that would effectively counteract low-frequency resonances.

In various applications, pressucztett panels are built in a purpose-built frame to ensure stability and minimize any occurrences of sound reflections.
