Presionmatësit, commonly known as pressure gauges, are instruments used to measure and display the pressure of a fluid, be it liquid or gas. They function by translating the force exerted by the fluid into a readable output, typically a numerical value on a dial or a digital display.

The underlying principle of most pressure gauges involves a mechanical element that deforms under the influence of the applied pressure. One of the most prevalent types is the Bourdon gauge, which utilizes a curved tube. As pressure increases inside the tube, it tends to straighten, and this movement is translated through a linkage system to move a pointer across a calibrated scale. Other types include diaphragm gauges, which use a flexible diaphragm that deflects under pressure, and bellows gauges, employing a corrugated tube that expands or contracts.

Pressure gauges find extensive applications across numerous industries. They are essential in plumbing and HVAC systems for monitoring water and air pressure, in automotive mechanics for checking engine oil and tire pressure, and in industrial settings for controlling processes in manufacturing plants, chemical facilities, and power generation stations.
