Predykatywna is a grammatical term used in Polish linguistics to describe elements that function as the predicate of a sentence. In Polish, predicativity is realized by adjectives used in predicative position and by nouns used as nominal predicates with linking verbs such as być. The form predykatywnej is the feminine singular genitive (or dative) inflection that appears in scholarly phrases describing the predicative function, for example in constructions like rola predykatywnej funkcji. The core idea is that a predykative element assigns a property or identity to the subject.

In practice, predykatywna includes several realizations. Predicative adjectives appear in the predicate to express a property of the subject, as in To jest piękne, where piękne serves as the predicative descriptor. Predicative nouns occur in nominal predicates, often in instrumental case after the linking verb być, as in On jest architektem, which identifies the subject with a role or status. Other predicative constructions arise with verbs such as okazać się or stać się, which lead to predicative adjectives or nouns.

This category is contrasted with attributive use, where adjectives directly modify a noun in a on-site position (for example, piękna dziewczyna). Predykatywna thus concerns the function of a word or phrase in the predicate of a sentence rather than its role as a modifier of a noun.
