potdekselplanken
Potdekselplanken, also known as clapboards or sidings, are a type of wooden exterior cladding for buildings. The name "potdeksel" originates from Dutch and describes the overlapping method of installation. Each board is laid horizontally, with the upper edge of each board overlapping the lower edge of the board above it. This overlapping design creates a weather-resistant seal, shedding water effectively and protecting the underlying building structure.
This construction method has been used for centuries and is particularly common in traditional vernacular architecture
