Postovulatoriska refers to the phase of the menstrual cycle that occurs after ovulation. This period is also commonly known as the luteal phase. It begins immediately following the release of an egg from the ovary, which is ovulation. The luteal phase is characterized by the development of the corpus luteum, a temporary endocrine structure formed from the ruptured follicle. The corpus luteum produces hormones, primarily progesterone and some estrogen, which are crucial for preparing the uterus for a potential pregnancy.
The levels of progesterone rise significantly during the postovulatoriska phase, thickening the uterine lining (endometrium) to
