postactinide
A post-actinide is a hypothetical superheavy element that would follow the actinides in the periodic table. Unlike the actinides, which are characterized by the filling of the 5f electron subshell, post-actinides are predicted to have their 6d or 7p electron subshells filled. These elements are expected to be extremely unstable and have very short half-lives, making their experimental synthesis and characterization a significant challenge. Theoretical models suggest that the island of stability, a region of predicted longer-lived superheavy nuclei, may exist beyond the current known elements, and some of these predicted isotopes could be considered post-actinides.
The chemical properties of post-actinides are largely unknown due to their ephemeral existence. However, relativistic effects
