Porozitást is a term found in Czech-language technical literature used to describe a material's porosity, defined as the proportion of the material's volume that consists of void spaces that can be occupied by fluids. In standard Czech, the corresponding noun for porosity is porozitost; porozitást appears as a variant or less common form encountered in some texts or translations.

Definition: Porozitást expresses the porosity as a dimensionless fraction, often given as a percentage. It can be further categorized into total porosity (the entire volume of voids) and effective or accessible porosity (voids connected to the surface or to fracture networks that contribute to fluid flow). Pores vary in size, shape, and connectivity, giving rise to terms such as microporosity, mesoporosity, macroporosity, and open versus closed porosity.

Measurement and interpretation: Porosity is determined by laboratory processes such as helium pycnometry, mercury intrusion porosimetry, and gravimetric methods, or by field approaches including core samples and borehole tests.
