Porcelánové is the Czech word for porcelain. Porcelain is a ceramic material made by heating materials, generally including kaolinite, in a kiln to temperatures between 1,200 and 1,400 °C (2,200 and 2,600 °F). This process results in a material that is white, hard, brittle, dense, nonporous, and translucent when held up to a light. Its distinctive properties are due to the formation of vitrified or glassy material within the ceramic body.
