podmienkach

Podmienkach is the locative plural form of the Polish noun podmienka, which denotes a condition, stipulation or requirement that must be satisfied in a given context. The word is commonly used in formal, legal and administrative language to describe the terms under which something occurs, is permitted, or remains valid. The locative plural is used after prepositions that govern the locative case, most often after w: for example, w podmienkach umowy (in the terms/conditions of the contract) or w podmienkach rynkowych (under market conditions).

In practice, podmienka refers to specific requirements or prerequisites, distinguishing it from related terms such as warunek (condition, term) which is more general, and podmiana, which means substitution.
