The receiver separates the conveyed material from the air, often using a filter or cyclone. Advantages of pneumatic conveying include its enclosed nature, which prevents dust emissions and protects the material from contamination, its flexibility in routing pipelines, and its ability to handle materials in both horizontal and vertical directions. However, potential drawbacks can include energy consumption, material attrition, and the need for careful system design to prevent blockages or wear.
