A plattsättare is a tradesperson who specializes in the installation of tiles, known as plattor in Swedish. This profession involves covering surfaces such as floors, walls, and ceilings with various types of tiles, including ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, and glass. The work requires precision and skill to ensure a durable and aesthetically pleasing finish.

The process typically begins with preparing the substrate, which might involve cleaning, leveling, or applying a waterproofing membrane. The plattsättare then measures and cuts tiles to fit the specific dimensions of the area, often using specialized tools like tile cutters and wet saws. Adhesive is applied to the surface, and the tiles are carefully laid in a predetermined pattern, ensuring proper spacing and alignment. Grouting is the next step, where the spaces between the tiles are filled to create a seamless surface and protect the adhesive. Finally, the excess grout is cleaned off, leaving a finished tiled area.
