Modelling approaches use reference architectures, capability maps, contract- or API-first views, and sequence diagrams to visualize relationships and value flows. Key concerns are openness versus control, modularity, security, data governance, scalability, and incentive alignment to sustain a growing ecosystem.

Applications span enterprise architecture, digital strategy, product development, and policy analysis.
