planarmagneettiset
Planarmagneettiset refers to a type of loudspeaker driver technology. These drivers, also known as planar magnetic or orthodynamic drivers, utilize a large, flat diaphragm that is moved by an array of magnets. Unlike conventional dynamic drivers that use a coil attached to a cone, planar magnetic drivers have a lightweight diaphragm with a conductive trace or wire embedded within its surface. This diaphragm is then suspended between two arrays of permanent magnets, positioned on either side. When an electrical current from an amplifier flows through the conductive trace on the diaphragm, it interacts with the magnetic field, causing the diaphragm to move back and forth and produce sound. The large surface area of the diaphragm can contribute to a more even and extended frequency response, particularly in the bass frequencies. Planar magnetic drivers are often praised for their detail, speed, and low distortion. They are commonly found in high-fidelity headphones and some specialized loudspeakers. The design can lead to a relatively flat frequency response and excellent transient response due to the low mass of the diaphragm and the uniform distribution of the driving force.
