Installation requires precise measurement and drilling of boreholes for the pivots, as well as reinforcement of the supporting structures to accommodate the loads. Standards such as DIN 18170 and ASTM F1032 provide guidelines for load capacity and testing. While pivot hinges offer smooth operation and design flexibility, they can be more complex to install and may demand regular maintenance of the bearing elements to prevent wear.
