Perusopiskelun refers to foundational studies in Finland, typically comprising nine years of comprehensive education for children aged 7 to 16. It is the initial stage of formal schooling and is compulsory for all residents. The curriculum covers a broad range of subjects designed to provide a well-rounded education, including mother tongue, mathematics, foreign languages, environmental studies, social studies, arts, and physical education.
