In workflow orchestration and cloud computing, pertask metrics may describe execution time, memory usage, or other resources for individual tasks, helping to optimize performance and capacity planning.

Pertask differs from PERT, the project-management technique for estimating activity durations, which is a distinct concept despite the similar spelling.

Limitations of pertask approaches include higher tracking overhead, potential fragmentation of interdependent work, and the risk that per-task metrics fail to reflect task interactions and overall project goals.
