Partisjonen (the partition) is a term used across disciplines to denote the act of dividing something into parts, or the result of such division. It is used in political and historical contexts, computing, mathematics, and more.

In political and historical contexts, partitions are processes that create new political boundaries or states from a larger territory. Notable examples include the Partition of India in 1947, which formed India and Pakistan; the 1947 UN Partition Plan for Palestine; and the division of Ireland after the early 1920s treaties.
