Parterna is a Swedish term meaning “the parties” and is used in legal and formal language to refer collectively to the participants in a legal relation, contract, dispute, or treaty. The word is the definite plural form of part (parter). In contracts, the parterna are the entities on opposing sides whose rights and obligations are set out in the agreement. Each part is identified by name and, when relevant, by organizational or personal identity numbers.
