Onderwaterstraalpompen, also known as submersible jet pumps, are a type of pump used to move fluids, often water, from one location to another. Unlike conventional submersible pumps that use an impeller to directly create pressure, a straalomp uses the principle of fluid dynamics, specifically the Venturi effect.

This diffuser converts the kinetic energy of the mixture back into pressure, allowing it to be lifted or transported.

They can be effective in handling fluids with suspended solids or debris, as they have fewer moving parts in contact with the fluid being pumped.
