Offsettrükkides is a term that refers to offset printing processes. The principle behind offset printing is based on the immiscibility of oil and water. An image is created on a metal plate, with image areas made of a greasy material that attracts ink and non-image areas made of a material that attracts water. When the plate is dampened with water, the water adheres to the non-image areas, repelling the ink. The ink then adheres only to the image areas.

This inked image is then transferred to a rubber blanket cylinder. From the blanket cylinder, the image is finally pressed onto the paper or other substrate. This process is called offset because the image is not transferred directly from the plate to the paper.

Offset printing is highly versatile and can be used for a wide range of printed materials, including books, magazines, brochures, posters, and packaging.
