Offendono is a small comune located in the province of Asti in the Piedmont region of north‑western Italy. The municipality covers an area of approximately 12 square kilometres and lies at an elevation of around 200 metres above sea level. As of the latest census published by the Italian National Institute of Statistics, the population of Offendono is around 1,200 residents, who are locally referred to as Offendonari. The locality is situated roughly 35 kilometres southeast of the city of Turin and 20 kilometres north of the provincial capital, Asti, making it accessible via regional roads and a branch of the standard Italian railway network that serves the Piedmontese countryside.

The origins of Offendono can be traced back to the early medieval period, with documented references appearing in charters from the 11th century. The village developed around a fortification that was originally built to protect the region from Lombard raids. Over the centuries, Offendono experienced periods of relative prosperity under the feudal lords of the House of Savoy, particularly during the Renaissance era when agriculture and viticulture expanded in the surrounding valleys. In the 19th century, the local economy diversified with the introduction of small-scale manufacturing, although the majority of the workforce has historically been involved in farming, especially in the cultivation of wheat and the cultivation of the famous Asti sparkling wine.
