nondiazotrophic
Nondiazotrophic refers to organisms that are unable to fix atmospheric nitrogen. Nitrogen fixation is the biological process by which gaseous nitrogen is converted into ammonia, a form that can be assimilated by plants and other organisms. This process is primarily carried out by a specific group of microorganisms, known as diazotrophs, which possess the enzyme nitrogenase.
Organisms that are nondiazotrophic must therefore obtain their nitrogen from external sources, such as organic nitrogen
