Neurointervention is a subspecialty of radiology and neurology that uses minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat diseases of the brain, spine, and blood vessels. These procedures, often referred to as endovascular or interventional neuroradiology, are performed by inserting thin, flexible tubes called catheters through small incisions, typically in the groin or arm, and guiding them to the affected area using real-time imaging techniques such as fluoroscopy or angiography.
