Nestevaranto is a term used in Finnish and Norwegian to denote the stock of liquid fuels held in reserve for future use. The word is a compound of neste (fuel, oil) and varanto (reserve, stock). In energy policy and logistics, nestevaranto refers to inventories of fuels such as crude oil, refined products (gasoline, diesel), aviation fuel, and other liquid energy carriers that are stored for supply security, price stabilization, or contingency planning.

Practically, nestevaranto can be held by national governments as strategic reserves, by corporations as working inventories, or by transportation sectors for operational continuity. The size and composition depend on policy goals, market conditions, and regulatory requirements. Measurements commonly use liters or cubic meters for liquids, with energy content sometimes expressed in tonnes of oil equivalent or barrels.

Governments may impose stockholding obligations and periodic releases or drawdowns as part of emergency response and market stabilization. The term is often encountered in national energy plans, oil and gas industry reports, and infrastructure logistics discussions. It is related to, but distinct from, electricity or gas storage and from strategic petroleum reserves in other languages.
