nearloanword
A nearloanword is a word or phrase adopted from another language but modified to conform to the phonological, morphological, or orthographic rules of the borrowing language. Unlike a direct loanword, which is often borrowed with little or no alteration, a nearloanword undergoes adaptation. This adaptation can involve changes in pronunciation, spelling, or even grammatical structure. For instance, a foreign word might have its ending altered to fit the noun declension system of the borrowing language, or its sounds might be reshaped to be pronounceable using the native phonemic inventory.
The term "nearloanword" is not as commonly used as "loanword" or "calque." It often falls into a
