Nasalering, also known as a nasal ring, is a type of body modification in which a circular or curved ring of jewelry is worn through a pierced opening in the nose. The most common placements are through a nostril (nostril piercing) or through the nasal septum (septum piercing). Rings can also be placed in other nasal areas, but nostril and septum are by far the most common.

Materials vary; common metals include surgical stainless steel, titanium, niobium, and gold; nickel-free alloys are preferred for sensitive skin. Initial jewelry is typically larger to accommodate swelling, with common gauges ranging from about 18 to 16 gauge for nostril and 16 to 14 gauge for septum. Rings come in captive bead rings, seamless hoops, and segment rings.

The piercing procedure should be performed by a licensed or trained piercer using sterile equipment. Aftercare includes cleaning with saline solution, avoiding touching the piercing with dirty hands, and avoiding submersion in pools or hot tubs during healing. Healing times vary: nostril piercings often heal in 2–4 months; septum piercings may heal in 6–12 weeks, though full maturation can take longer.

Risks include infection, allergic reaction to metal, irritation, migration or rejection, and tissue damage if pierced too shallowly or with an inappropriate jewelry size. If there is persistent redness, swelling, fever, or discharge, professional evaluation is advised. Jewelry should be changed only after healing and preferably by a professional to minimize damage.

In many cultures nose rings have historical and cultural significance, and in modern times they are widely used in fashion. Regulations governing who may pierce or sell nasal jewelry vary by country and region.
