Third-degree burns are more severe, affecting the entire thickness of the skin and sometimes extending into the underlying tissues. These burns cause white or charred skin, loss of sensation, and significant pain. They may take several months to heal and can result in permanent scarring or disfigurement. Fourth-degree burns are the most severe, affecting all layers of the skin and often extending into muscle, bone, or fat. These burns can cause tissue death, severe pain, and significant disfigurement.

Treatment for skin burns depends on the degree of the burn and the extent of tissue damage. Mild burns may only require topical creams and pain relievers. More severe burns may require medical intervention, including fluid replacement, pain management, and wound care. In some cases, surgical intervention may be necessary to remove dead tissue and promote healing. Prevention of skin burns involves using protective clothing, avoiding contact with hot surfaces, and being cautious with chemicals and electricity.
