The verb is understood from the context.

Névmondatok can also express properties or states. "Az ég kék." means "The sky is blue." In this case, "kék" (blue) describes the characteristic of the subject "az ég" (the sky). The sentence asserts that the sky possesses the quality of being blue.

The absence of an explicit copula is a defining feature of many névmondatok, particularly in the present tense.
