Mwembe is a Swahili word commonly used in East Africa to refer to the mango tree (Mangifera indica). Mango trees are tropical evergreen trees known for their delicious fruit. They are native to South Asia but have been cultivated and spread across tropical and subtropical regions worldwide, including much of East Africa, where they have become a significant part of the local diet and economy.
