It can be further divided into explicit (declarative) memory, which involves conscious recall of facts and events, and implicit (non-declarative) memory, which involves unconscious learning and skills. Explicit memory includes episodic memory (personal experiences) and semantic memory (general knowledge). Implicit memory includes procedural memory (how to do things) and priming effects.
